Part 4: Prepping your Liteon DG16D2s Drive and software before you start- How to get from knowing nothing to playing ISO files on a slim XBOX 360 working with XGD3 decryption

Part 4 – Prepping your Liteon DG16D2s Drive and software before you start

This is Part 4 of a 10 Part tutorial on the different aspects of playing backup ISO files on an XBOX 360. In Part 4, I will explain how to prep your drive and OS before the work required to rip your owned games.

This tutorial is based on this drive. Other drives could be slightly different and may require different steps, however the general idea is the same.

Outline.

Pre-Work

1. Take drive apart

2. Find the main Chip

3. Find pin on right hand side labeled MPX01 solder connection on right

4. Make sure you know where this is and have a good placement so you can get to mouse, this pin (MPX01) and the DVD Adapter v4

5. Hookup drive adapter and drive

a. SATA to On-board controller

b. Power cable to DVD Adapter v4 and Computer/Molex to DVD Adapter v4

6. Wireup the POGO Cable

b. Make sure the red-wire goes to PGM

c. Make sure that the Pogo Pin is pointed out (spring loaded side out)

7. Verify everything is powered up and plugged in. This should look like this:

 

Software Setup - Jungleflasher

1. Create a folder C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher

2. Get all Software ready:

a. Download Jungleflasher (Extract to C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher)

b. Download LiteOn Firmware (0800)

c. Download PortIO64.sys

d. Download iXtreme Firmware (used for this tutorial)

3. Put all files in the right place:

a. Go to Jungleflasher directory

b. Copy LiteOn Firmware to C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher \firmware directory

c. Copy iXtreme Firmware to C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher \firmware directory

d. Copy C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher\libusb\libusb0.dll to C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher directory (should be same place as where the jungleflasher.exe works from

e. Copy Portio64.sys to same directory as JungleFlasher.exe (C:\Xbox\Jungleflasher)

4. IF USING Windows Vista or Above you HAVE TO DO THIS. There are two options:

a. Reboot Computer and hit F8 to Turn off Driver Signature Verification

i. Don’t know how, look here

ii. Not working to hit F8 or want other option?

b. Run dseo.exe (Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider)

i. Next-image

ii. Yes -image

iii. Sign a File - image

iv. c:\xbox360\jungleflasher\portio64.sys

1. OK - image

v. Enable Test Mode –

vi. Next –

c. Reboot
